VIT Vellore (VIT University Vellore) has announced the seat allotment result of VITEEE 2021 counselling Phase 4. VIT admission 2021 for undergraduate degree programmes is OPEN for non-resident indians (NRI)/ foreign candidates. The deemed university began inviting applications for VITEEE 2021 in November 2020. Admission to UG and PG programmes is based on both merit and entrance exams. It offers programmes in streams such as Engineering, Science, Management, Architecture, Thiết kế, Mass Communication, Hotel Management and Visual Communication.

VIT Vellore admission process 2021 is currently ongoing in both online and offline modes. Admission to most of the Technical and Management programmes such as BTech, BArch, BDes, MTech, MCA and MBA is entrance-based and is only confirmed after obtaining a valid score/rank in their respective entrance exams. Every year, VIT Vellore conducts VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE 2021) for BTech, VIT Masters Entrance Examination (VITMEE 2021) for MTech and VIT Research Entrance Examination to shortlist candidates.

Selection criteria: Selection to BTech will be based on a valid VITEEE rank (calculated as per system algorithm based on Class 12 marks). Students with a valid JEE Main rank or SAT score will be given weightage for BTech admission.
Eligibility Criteria: Candidates should have secured a minimum aggregate of 60% (50% for reserved categories) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the qualifying examination (Class 12 or equivalent) from a recognised board. For BTech (Biotechnology), the candidate must have passed Class 12 in the PCB stream with minimum 60% aggregate (50% for reserved categories).

Key highlights
VIT Vellore officials do not release any VITEEE cutoff data for the past years. However, as per the data collated from multiple sources regarding VITEEE 2020 cutoff, here are a few important highlights and predictions for VITEEE 2021 cutoff:
- VIT (most probably) will call the first 20,000 rank holders of VITEEE 2021 for phase-1 of counselling which will start from July 2021 onward
- This deemed university uses equating methodology to calculate candidate’s marks
- Candidates with a score of 118 or above are likely to fall between 1-250 rank range
- Those with less than 31 marks are expected to have a rank of 20,000 or below

VIT Vellore vs VIT Chennai
VIT deemed to be University has always been a sought after choice in India for BTech after the tier 1 colleges. But the very next question that comes up is – which one? Among all the four campuses, both Vellore and Chennai campuses are well established and selecting one will depend on a number of factors. However, Vellore campus generally wins the battle in terms of being the oldest one.
To make this battle a little more interesting, we have compared the 2016 closing cutoff of VIT Vellore with that of VIT Chennai in the below graph. As clearly visible, the closing cutoff of VIT Chennai across the top five BTech specialisations extremely low as compared to VIT Vellore, which in turn, can directly impact the quality of students in the campus.
Note: VIT campuses do not release their cutoffs online. Hence, the cutoff data used for comparison is of the 2016 batch.
While the cutoff clearly shows the better option, candidates opting for VIT Vellore will be joining a campus that accommodates over 10,000 students for a single batch. So, students who prefer studying in between a smaller crowd can opt for VIT Chennai.

VIT Vellore offers full-time BArch and BDes under the School of Architecture and School of Thiết kế, respectively. The duration of the BArch programme is five years, whereas BDes is a four-year course.
Selection criteria: A valid score in NATA is required to secure admission to BArch. For BDes, along with VITEEE, candidates, who have passed UCEED, can apply for the BDes programme. Candidates with a valid score in VITEEE are not required to appear for UCEED.

VIT Vellore Admission 2021: BJMC, BCA, BBA, BCom
VIT Vellore also offers BBA, BCA, BJMC and BCom at the undergraduate level. The duration of all these programmes is three years. All these programmes are designed with Curriculum Applied Learning (CAL) method and courses such as BBA and BCom facilitate to complete professional certificates such as ACCA along with the respective degree. The course curriculum of all these programmes is distributed among six semesters of six months each, which also include soft-skills training as part of the course curriculum.

VIT Vellore offers BSc in three specialisations, namely Multimedia & Animation, Visual Communication and Computer Science, and BSc (Hons) in only one specialisation, viz. Agriculture. Other than BSc, the University also offers BCHM under the School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHOT). This programme comprehensively focuses on all the important aspects of hospitality management. There is no entrance exam for admission to any of these programmes. The duration of BSc and BCHM is three years.

VIT Vellore PhD Admission 2021
VIT Vellore offers PhD in streams such as Science, Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences and Management at doctorate level. PhD is offered in internal (full-time), internal (part-time) and external (part-time) modes. Usually, candidates must appear for VITREE conducted by the VIT authorities for admission to PhD programme, followed by a PI. However, VITREE 2021 will not be conducted by the VIT authorities. The University will give admission to students based on recognised national-level entrance exams, followed by a PI round.

- Go to ‘New Applicant Page’ and register yourself with the required information

- Fill the application form [cost of the application form is Rs 600 (Rs 1,200 for MDes) and is non-refundable]

Final selection is based on the scores of the candidate in the previous qualifying examination at master’s level and performance in VITREE followed by research output and personal interview.

A. Yes, VIT scholarships are available to only those students who have secured a rank under 1,000 in the VITEEE examination. The scholarship ranges from 25-100% of fees depending upon the rank of the student in the qualifying examination.
Q. What is the level of difficulty of VITEEE when compared to JEE Main?
A. The difficulty level of the VITEEE exam is moderate compared to other national-level entrance exams such as JEE Main and JEE Advanced. Students, who prepare for JEE Main exam usually, find it easier to crack VITEEE, as this exam does not have any negative marking. However, the syllabus of the VITEEE exam varies every year.
Q. What is the eligibility criteria to apply for BTech Biotechnology at VIT Vellore?
